Kristine Jones was born and raised in Northern California, where she spent much of her life surrounded by rural landscapes that would later influence the atmosphere of her stories. A lifelong reader, she fell in love with storytelling at an early age and quickly became fascinated by the way words could shape entire worlds, relationships, and destinies.
The idea for The Black Dahlia Series first came to her in a dream: a world built on matriarchal, elemental magic, and a young woman torn from her family before she could fully understand her own destiny. Taken by a man determined to use her people’s legendary power to build a better future for his own, the story became the foundation for the world of the Mothers, destiny, sacrifice, and legacy that now defines the series.
What began during the COVID-19 pandemic as a creative outlet quickly grew into a passion she could not step away from. Since then, Kristine has continued expanding the world and stories surrounding the Black Dahlia novels.
When she isn’t writing, she enjoys reading, spending time with her son, and life in Northern California alongside her two dogs, Dozer and Luna. Some of her favorite authors include Stephen King, John Grisham, Isabel Canas, Sarah J. Maas, and Cassandra Clare. Stories that have stayed with her over the years include Family, The Chamber, The Dark Tower, and The Dark Artifices.
